Project Objectives
Over the course of this project you will continue the process of building skills which enable you to convey meaning, feeling, and metaphor through typography. Your objective is to visually communicate the essence of a geographical place. The designs will consist of the city name (plus a limited set of supporting abstract graphical elements). You must communicate meaning visually by the typeface you select, the placement of the word within a composition, typographic scale, and appropriate use of supporting elements
Description
For this project I was given the city of Fresno, California. I didn't know much about Fresno coming into this project but thankfully my partner frequently visits this city. Throughout my interview questions I found out that Fresno is a very rich in agriculture, knowing this I wanted to incorporate this into my design. For my final letter form I used Bungee, I personally like working with thicker types because I feel like I have a wider range of control and can manipulate the text more.
