Final Sticker & Shirt Designs
with rationales

Design Rationale
This design is for the slogan “A Kid Taught me to Vote”. Using the circular sticker shape to my advantage I arched the text to give room for a illustration in the middle. This illustration is no more then a simple drawing for children and adults to to connect with, and aligning with C21’s values of being an inclusive and diverse organization. I also included the longitude and latitude for Milwaukee, this is just to fill space and adds an additional level of meaning since C21 is based here.
Design Rationale
“Days until I can Vote” sticker uses an empty space in the center for children to write the days until they can vote. Using the same color palette, and keeping the center a lighter color allows for any dark marker, like a sharpie, to be clearly seen. I included two portions of a circle to bound a space to write in. The words “DAYS” and “VOTE” are also emphasized, I thought these were the most important words in this slogan.
Design Rationale
For the last sticker design “ I Taught a Kid to Vote” the colors are inverted from the other two. Again I am using a simple illustration of a peace sign. I added two smiley faces to represent the adult and the child the slogan is refereeing too. Again putting emphasis on “Taught”.
Design Rationale
This is the T-Shirt design, I named it “Story Umbrella”, as the name suggest it includes simplified versions of the C21 story cart and the umbrella that is usually accompanied by it. For the text “the teach a kid to vote challenge”, I broke the saying down into easy, readable sections. Also using lower case text to appear more friendly. The colors are the exact same as the sticker to finish off the set.
